How To Energize Your Environment

Now that we have:

  1. Energized your bodies
  2. Energized your minds, and
  3. Energized your diet

we can take a wider approach and look at ways to boost the energy in our environments.

Ionizer

Do you notice that you generally feel better and more energetic when you are by the sea. I certainly do, that's why I choose to live on the seafont or very close by. The main reason for this feel good factor is the abundance of negative ions in the sea air. Negative ions improve clear headedness and energy. They are formed whenever there is flowing water, which is why showers can be more invigorating than baths. In the office negative ions tend to be in short supply. An ionizer, which pumps out negative ions is no substitute for a fortnight at the seaside,, but it can reduce fatigue and improve mental clarity. Find ionizers

Turn The Heater Off

Working in a cooler environment keeps you more alert. Warm surroundings evoke the physical sensations and mental images of sleep. Sharing an office can make temperature control a bit of a hot topic, so you may have to manage your body heat with your wardrobe. Remove a layer after lunch whe your body metabolism is working at its peak, and avoid wearing a sweater, turtleneck or heavy polo shirt. A small personal desk fan can help circulate the air and make it feel cooler than it is.

Sunshine

SAD, or seasonaly affected disorder is a genuine condition of feeling blue and lacking in energy during winder months. You really do need 20 minutes a day exposed to naturaly sunlight to maintain your Vitamin D production, which is essential for body growth and repair. To optimize the amount of light you’re exposed to during the day, take a walk around the block during lunch, or sit is a sheltered, sunny place. Avoid intense summer sun without a sunblock, which sort of defeats the purpose. If possible reposition your workspace so you can see out a window. Even seeing sunshine is a mental boost. Many businesses now use natural energy bulbs in their fluorescent lighting. Standard fluorescent light is draining as it gives off too much color (usually yellow) , it also lacks the ultraviolet light of sunlight. So if the company won't invest in your energy - take control and buy a couple yourself.

That's the end of your energize yourself series - it's now up to you to be proactive in achieving higher energy levels. Try a few of these tips at a time, and I am positive you will notice a marked improvement in your energy. Respect you body and give it the energy and nutrients it requires.
